Applications are open for the National Press Foundation International Trade Training 2024. The National Press Foundation returns to Singapore from June 23-26 to train journalists on a wide variety of aspects of sustainable global trade, including China’s influence on the region and the world, sustainable investment, what the U.S. presidential election will mean for trade, economic data analyses, environmental and social impact, supply chain issues and emerging trends.
NPF offers this professional development opportunity for journalists to enhance skills, increase knowledge and recharge their reporting on one of today’s most critical beats.
Cost
- The foundation will cover airfare, hotel costs and most meals.
Eligibility
- This program is for Asia-based journalists only. Journalists may be domestic or international, working in print, television, radio or digital media. They greatly value diversity in all their programs.
- All nationalities are welcome to apply but journalists must be based in Asia. Priority is given to journalists with a coverage plan and demonstrated experience covering these issues.
- Applicants must agree to comply with Singapore’s visa and COVID-19 policies.
Application
Here’s what you’ll need (all submissions must be in English):
- Two samples of your work (from within the last year)
- A letter of support from an editor or supervisor (if you’re a freelancer, a letter from someone who has edited or published your work)
You also should be prepared to tell them:
- Why are you interested in this program?
- How will you use this program to benefit your audience?
- Who are you? A brief, narrative autobiography.
