Applications are open for the IRENA Youth Logo Contest 2024. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organization that supports countries in transitioning to a sustainable energy future, focusing on renewable energy. Since 2018, IRENA has launched a series of dedicated initiatives to empower young people to contribute to the renewable energy transition and create a sustainable future.

IRENA is thrilled to announce the IRENA Youth Logo Contest as part of its commitment to engaging and empowering the new generation of energy leaders. This Contest aims to inspire young talents worldwide to showcase their creativity and passion for sustainable energy while fostering a strong connection between IRENA and the youth and urges them to share their visions on rejuvenating the present IRENA Youth Logo and its identity. They cordially invite all young minds to contribute their imaginative concepts for the rebranding of our current IRENA Youth Logo.

Benefits

  • The winning participant or team will receive an invitation to attend the 2025 IRENA Youth Forum to be held from 9 to 14 January 2025 in Abu Dhabi at the margins of the 15th session of the IRENA Assembly. The winning logo will be launched at the 2025 IRENA Youth Forum.
  • The winner will be credited on IRENA’s official website and social media channels.
  • The winning logo will become the official emblem of the IRENA Youth initiative, featured on IRENA’s website, social media channels, and promotional materials.

Eligibility

  • Open to individuals aged 18-35 years.
  • Each participant may submit up to three unique logo designs in two versions in one email. Teams of up to two members can also participate in this Contest.

Deliverables

  • A high-resolution logo in vector format (e.g., PDF, AI, EPS, or SVG).
  • Each submitted logo should be on a separate A4 landscape page.
  • Each submitted logo should have two versions: one with the IRENA Youth logo as a standalone and one with the IRENA Youth logo combined with the IRENA logo.
  • A set of colour variations and their corresponding Pantone, CMYK, and RGB values.
  • Guidelines for logo usage, including minimum size, clear space, and typography recommendations.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Originality and creativity.
  • Relevance to the IRENA Youth initiative, its target audience, and IRENA.
  • Visual appeal and aesthetic quality.
  • Versatility and adaptability for different applications.
  • Overall impact and memorability.

Application

Participants must submit their logo designs in digital format as indicated under section 5.b via email to [email protected] by 1 July 2024 at 23:59 GST. The email subject line must be: “IRENA Youth Logo Contest – [Your Name/Team Name]”.
