Applications are open for the Common Purpose/American Express Leadership Academy 2024. For over a decade the American Express Leadership Academy has aimed to strengthen the non-profit sector by building the capacity of its leaders.

The programme is transformative by design. It gives non-profit leaders from diverse specialities and organizations a unique opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences, address current and future challenges within the sector, as well as gain insight from key leaders in social, public and private sectors.

Are you ready to drive change forward in your organization and help grow the foundations needed for the future success of the non-profit sector? Then apply for this programme.

Benefits

  • Free program, with all costs fully funded by American Express.
  • 40 hours of learning spread over 6 months, with online and in-person components.
  • Opportunity to learn from diverse non-profit leaders and gain insights from leaders across sectors.

Eligibility

They are looking for:

  • High potential leaders from the Americas, currently in or identified for executive roles in future, having a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the social sector.
  • At a unique transition point in their professional trajectory where the American Express Leadership Academy can accelerate their growth.
  • In roles that require them to accelerate their ability to influence inside and outside their organizations.
  • With a track record of innovation, embraces change, and want to transform their team, organization and community.
  • With a desire and readiness to be supported in public speaking and tell their story to a broader audience.
  • Work for a registered non-profit or non-governmental organization.
  • Are able to fully commit to all parts of the American Express Leadership Academy including attendance at the in-person Academy, online sessions, engagement with peers, and commitment to being active in the community of Resilient Changemakers we are striving to develop.
