Deadline: August 4, 2024
Call for participants to join the Young Gamechangers Fund Steering Group is ongoing. The Young Gamechangers Fund (YGF) is a ground-breaking initiative funded by Co-op Foundation, the Co-op and #iwillFund. Last year they launched a radical £4.5m fund to put young people right at the heart of change.
This year they are looking for passionate and committed young people aged 18 – 25 from across the UK to help the current steering group design and lead in its second year. They know that young people are often excluded from decisions that affect them most and YGF is changing this by not only funding youth-led programmes, but through co-designing the whole fund with young people.
Last year they funded 33 projects led by amazing young people all over the UK; this year, they want to expand their reach in terms of the project theme but also geographical area, and they need YOUR help!
Duties
YGF Steering Group members will:
- Help the current cohort of the Steering Group to continue building the fund, i.e. application building, assessing applications, etc.
- Bring your lived experience and skills to the YGF and ensure the Fund works for young people like you.
- Collaborate with other young people online and in person.
- Be part of creating change for young activists and gamechangers across the UK.
Eligibility
They are looking for young people:
- Living in any part of the UK;
- Aged between 18 and 25;
- With an interest in youth-led change (no specific experience required) – this can be in your personal life, your job, in the UK or abroad, as part of a group or organisation, or by yourself – they are excited to hear about what youth-led change means to you.
YGF is committed to giving power to young people from lots of different backgrounds and with lots of different experiences. After consulting with the current steering group, they identified some gaps in recruitment and would like to particularly encourage applications from:
- Young people from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the East of England
- Young males
- Young people who have not followed traditional routes of education (e.g. not attended university)
- Young people with experience of living in rural/isolated communities
- Young people with a physical disability.
Application
In your application, they would like to know why you are applying and what skills and experience you will bring.
Alternatively, you can share a short video (maximum five minutes) responding to these questions – it is up to you! You can email the video to [email protected]
