Applications are open for the Falling Walls Lab Cape Town 2024. The ‘Falling Walls Lab’ is a world class pitch competition and networking forum that brings together a diverse multidisciplinary pool of students and early career professionals to find innovative solutions locally and globally to the many issues that plague the world.
Each participant is given 3 minutes to pitch an original and breakthrough solution to a social ill to a panel of judges. The panel of judges is made up of experts from academia and commerce. The winner of the Cape Town Lab will represent the city in the global competition on November 7, 2024 which will be hosted in Germany. The purpose of the competition is to foster a spirit of collaboration and drive sustainable community development projects.
Prizes
- 1st prize: R15,000
- 2nd prize: R12,000
- 3rd prize: R10,000
Eligibility
- Open to students and early-career professionals of all disciplines.
- You must be 18 years or older when submitting your application.
- You are currently enrolled in university.
- You are currently a postdoc.
- You received a Bachelor’s degree no more than 10 years ago.
- You received a Master’s degree no more than 7 years ago.
- You received a PhD no more than 5 years ago.
