Deadline: October 25, 2024

Applications are open for the French Institute x International City of Arts Residency Program 2025. The Institut français x Cité internationale des arts residency program is aimed at artists and cultural professionals who have been living abroad for at least 5 years and who wish to develop a research and creative project in Paris during a three-, six- or nine-month residency.

The artists are supported by one or more cultural partners (French cultural network abroad, French or foreign cultural structures – art center, association, gallery, museum, approved structure, theater, production venue, concert hall, festival, etc.) who submit their application and then cover their international travel and living allowance. The Institut français offers the winners the free allocation of a studio-apartment within the Cité internationale des arts.

The Cité internationale des arts is located in Paris, on two separate sites, and has 325 studio-apartments. The management of 22 studio-apartments is delegated to the Institut français by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

  • The associated partner(s) undertake to cover the round-trip travel costs; ensure that the artist has insurance covering repatriation, hospitalization costs, medical expenses and civil liability; ensure that the artist has a visa allowing him to stay in France for the entire duration of his residency; provide the artist with a living allowance of at least €1,000 per month.
