Deadline: September 30, 2024
Nominations are open for the Foundation for Black Communities Canada Community Selection Circles 2024. The Foundation for Black Communities Canada (FFBC) is the first organization of its kind, and their goal is to understand, recognize and celebrate the search for solutions in Black communities.
For the Foundation for Black Communities to be successful, they need the voice, and expertise of all Black communities. The community involvement is central to FFBC’s participatory grant making process. Their approach is based on the idea that we are interconnected, and we can improve the conditions for ourselves by improving the conditions for those around us.
With the multi-tiered decision-making process they have, Community Selection Circles (CSC) are crucial as they perform the initial application assessments and recommend grantees to the other levels all the way to the FFBC Board. CSC members are selected from the wider Black community members (grant applicants will not be CSC members for this year’s granting round).
Benefits
- CSC members will receive an Honorarium to recognize their efforts and contribution to the grant making process.
Eligibility
- Open to black nonprofits in Canada;
- Nominee should be someone whose contributions could make a big difference.
