Deadline: November 15, 2024

Applications are open for the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) London Student Ambassador Programme 2024-2025. YPFP London will select 3-6 Student Ambassadors to support their Events and Communications Teams. Student Ambassadors will also have the option to write and publish FP analyses under the support and supervision of experienced researchers who worked at the UN and top academic institutions.

Student Ambassadors responsibilities include:

  • Act as Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between YPFP and their respective university communities.
  • Events team support: curate events and support delivery of online and/or in-person events.
  • Comms team support: generate contents for social media and newsletters that resonate with student and young professional audience, including articles, event recaps, and student testimonials.
  • Recruit New Members: encourage peers to join YPFP, fostering a larger and more diverse community of young professionals interested in foreign policy.
  • Provide Feedback: gather feedback from their university communities about student interests, preferences for event types, and barriers to accessing the foreign policy industry.

Benefits

  • Valuable skillset: by choosing between the Communication or Events streams, you will gain first-hand experiences to develop your presentation and/or project management skills – essential skills to thrive in the diplomacy / FP industry.
  • Guaranteed places for our Mentorship Programme and Skills-building workshop Series: in 2024-25, YPFP is planning to run a mentorship programme and a skills-building workshop supported by real FP / diplomacy professionals and G7 / G20 Youth Summits / COP veterans.
  • First-hand insights with real FP / diplomacy professionals: you will be working closely with young professionals who have real experiences in the diplomacy / FP field.
  • Fast-track opportunity to the YPFP London Team: outstanding ambassadors will have the chance to transition into full YPFP team members in the next application cycle.
  • Opportunity to conduct FP research and publish articles under the guidance of experienced FP / IR researchers (including UN researchers and Peking University Yenching Scholars): valuable add-ons to your job / postgraduate applications.
  • High autonomy: as this is the inaugural Student Ambassador programme, ambassadors will be given high level of autonomy to shape their roles within their teams and curate future YPFP London events.
