Applications for the 10th Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards 2025 are now open. Continental Reinsurance Plc, a leading Pan-African reinsurer, is proud to announce the launch of the 10th edition of the Pan African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards, marking a decade of recognizing journalistic talent and excellence within the re/insurance industry.
The longest-running award program dedicated to excellence in re/insurance journalism across Africa is now open for entries. These prestigious awards celebrate the critical efforts of journalists who highlight key issues and developments in the insurance industry across the continent.
Categories
The categories in the 2025 awards are:
- Best Re/Insurance Print Article (English)
- Best Re/Insurance Online Article (English)
- Best Re/Insurance Broadcast Article (English)
- Best Re/Insurance French Entry
- Best Re/Insurance Arabic Entry
- Dr Femi Oyetunji Future Talent Award: This category is not open for entries
Benefits
- Award recipients are recognised at the Awards Ceremony to be held alongside an industry event and will receive a complimentary invitation to the event (health and government restrictions permitting). The cost of travel and hotel accommodation will be borne by Continental Re.
- The names and photos of the award recipients and the awards that they have won will be published in Continental Re’s literature and online channels to celebrate the achievements of the award winners.
- Recipients may use their award titles for their own professional development.
Eligibility
- Submission can be either a published article – print, online or broadcast (radio/television clip) in English, French or Arabic.
- Only one article can be entered for each category.
- Entrants must be journalists based in any African country.
Selection Process
An international judging panel comprising industry experts and academics in journalism will review and select the winner entries.
The judging panel will evaluate all submitted material according to the quality of information and how it contributes to creating a better understanding of the benefits insurance can deliver to individuals, communities and societies at large.
