Nominations are open for the Global Water Awards 2025. Since 2006, the Global Water Awards have celebrated excellence in the international water industry. Presented annually at the Global Water Summit – the premier business conference for water professionals – these prestigious awards honor groundbreaking achievements across water, wastewater, and desalination. Recognising innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable financial solutions, the awards highlight initiatives that are driving the industry forward and shaping a sustainable water future.

Categories

  • Water Company of the Year: For the water company that made the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector in 2024.
  • Desalination Company of the Year: For the company that made the greatest overall contribution to the desalination industry in 2024.
  • Water Technology Company of the Year: For the company which made the most significant contribution to the field of water and digital technology in 2024.
  • Breakthrough Technology Company of the Year: For the early-stage technology company which made the most impressive commercial breakthrough into the global water technology market in 2024.
  • Public Water Agency of the Year: For the governmental agency or public body that made the biggest difference to water and wastewater service provision and utility management in 2024.
  • Desalination Plant of the Year: For the desalination plant, commissioned in 2024, that represents the most impressive technical or ecologically sustainable achievement in the industry.
  • Water Project of the Year: For the water project, commissioned during 2024, that shows the greatest innovation in terms of optimising its physical or environmental footprint.
  • Wastewater Project of the Year: For the wastewater project, commissioned during 2024, that shows the greatest innovation in terms of optimising its physical or environmental footprint.
  • Industrial Project of the Year: For the industrial project, commissioned in 2024, that represents the most impressive technical or environmental achievement in the field of industrial water and wastewater.
  • Water Reuse Project of the Year: For the project, delivered during 2024, that represents the most significant advancement in terms of water reuse.
  • Water Stewardship Programme of the Year: For the corporate programme which has delivered the greatest benefit to nature and/or people through water stewardship endeavours in 2024.

Eligibility

  • Nominations are open to everyone.
  • Anyone (as an individual or on behalf of a company) can nominate a company, project, plant, technology, deal or initiative to be recognised by the Global Water Awards.
  • Individuals can submit nominations for themselves or others. Individuals can nominate in as many categories as they want and nominate multiple times in each category. All nominee applications are made on a confidential basis.
  • Nominations must be submitted in English.
