Call for Proposals: Chicago Women’s History Center Conference 2025

Submission of Proposals for the Chicago Women’s History Center Conference 2025 is ongoing. Chicago Women’s History Center, Black Metropolis Research Consortium (BMRC), and Evanston History Center is inviting proposals from their community to present lectures, presentations, panels, and workshops at the upcoming Chicago Women’s History conference in March 2025. They invite proposals from their community that address the theme: Past & Present Strategies to Advance the Rights of Women.

Proposals can include collaborative presentations, panel discussions with the maximum of four people presenting 15mins each, or workshop sessions. Sessions will be 1hour and 30mins long and there will be four sessions each day with four strands of programming throughout the day. Conference presentations and panel will be recorded and shared only with registered participants who register for that option. Workshops will not be recorded.

Eligibility

  • Open to individuals who are citizens of the United States.
  • Writers and Scholars engaged in research or writing related to women’s history and rights.
  • Academics and professionals conducting studies on women’s issues.
  • Students currently enrolled in graduate programs who wish to present their work.
  • Individuals actively involved in promoting women’s rights and related social issues.

Your submission should include:

  • Abstract (500 words) describing format and content
  • Short biography (300 words)
  • Resume (Word doc or PDF)
  • Additional materials (optional): Up to two images or a poster
