Deadline: February 15, 2025

Applications are open for the United Nations SDSN Nigeria Climate Actors Accelerator Programme 2025. The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Youth Network Nigeria recognizes the significant threat of climate change and its consequences as a result of the triple planetary emergency, which includes rising global temperatures, habitat loss leading to the extinction of species, and ongoing pollution of air, land, and water.

The Climate Actors Accelerator Programme (CAAP) is a unique opportunity for young innovators and changemakers to join the fight against the global climate crisis. With a focus on individuals aged 18 to 35, this knowledge-sharing and innovation programme offers a comprehensive approach to creating a sustainable future through advanced training, bootcamp, environmental campaigns, clean-up efforts, tree-planting activities, ecological tours, and innovative thinking.

The goal of this programme is to develop a network of young climate champions that would pioneer transformative solutions to protect the planet and restore the ecosystem. They believe these solutions would address the critical issues of climate change mitigation and adaptation, promotion of natural and cultural heritage, biodiversity conservation, waste and pollution, and responsible production and consumption to make our environment and human settlements inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.

The Climate Actors Accelerator Programme structure consists of a combination of Masterclass Sessions, Community Projects, and Climate Innovation Bootcamp, which will provide young climate champions with a comprehensive and holistic learning experience that prepares them to become transformative leaders and change agents in their local and global communities.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be Nigerian and between the ages of 18 – 35 years.
  • Ability to commit at least 4 hours per week throughout the programme.
  • Availability to partake in Masterclass sessions, Climate Education, and Community Development Projects.
  • Interested in being a development and transformation agent.

Application

Applications will be approved on a rolling basis. They encourage you to complete and submit the form before the deadline!
