Deadline: March 25, 2025

The World Food Prize Foundation is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Top Agri-food Pioneers (TAP)! Do you know an agri-food champion contributing to more productive, nutritious and sustainable food systems?

The TAP list features pioneers of any age, background or career focus working in fields related to food or agriculture. Those selected in the 2024 list comprised the first cohort of TAP, and the 2025 recipients will build on this network of trailblazers to facilitate co-learning and collaboration across food systems. They will also be featured at the 2025 Borlaug Dialogue in Des Moines, Iowa.

The TAP list features individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and career fields who are driving advancements in agriculture, nutrition, sustainability, technology and more. This year’s cohort will feature 39 exceptional innovators from around the world in honor of the organization’s 39th anniversary. They also be recognized at the 2025 Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue in Des Moines, Iowa, Oct. 21-23, 2025.

Those selected for the 2025 cohort will join a growing network of trailblazers dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation across food systems. Last year’s inaugural cohort featured pioneers from 20 countries, working in a range of fields, from food security advocacy to seed innovation.

Eligibility

  • Open to pioneers of any age, background or career focus working in fields related to food or agriculture

Submissions will be assessed based on the following criteria.

  • Innovation: pursues and applies inventive, original or cutting edge methods, technology and/or solutions to agri-food issues
  • Impact: demonstrable effect on improving agri-food systems or solutions to issues locally or globally
  • Leadership: demonstrates leadership of others working in agri-food in collaborative settings
  • Collaboration: seeks out cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary involvement, connecting with a diverse array of stakeholders in agri-food systems
  • Persistence: exhibits a “never give up” attitude, even in the face of adversity, difficult circumstances, limited resources or criticism

Nomination

In the expansive landscape of agri-food innovation, it is important to recognize and celebrate the remarkable pioneers reshaping our global food systems for the better. The World Food Prize Foundation invites you to submit the name of a trailblazer whose work has substantively impacted the productivity, sustainability or inclusiveness of our food systems.
