Deadline: April 11, 2025

Applications are open for the African-German Young Leaders in Business (AGYLE) Programme 2025. Become part of a unique African-German business network, connect with Young Leaders from Africa and Germany and develop innovative ideas for a sustainable future. Through direct encounters, inspiring dialogue and targeted networking, long-term partnerships and new business perspectives are created.

Continued urbanisation and a steady growth in population, combined with the looming climate crisis that is making more and more regions worldwide uninhabitable, highlight the urgent need for sustainable, intelligent and inclusive urban planning. To ensure quality of life in metropolitan areas for future generations, it is vital to overcome environmental, social and economic challenges.

Against this background, the 2025 AGYLE programme revolves around innovative business solutions for sustainable urban development in the areas of mobility, architecture, energy supply, waste management, and digitisation.

In this context, they are addressing key questions such as the following: How can businesses contribute to green urban development and green growth? And how can cooperation between African and German companies be strengthened with a view to promoting sustainable urban development?

Programme Components

  • AGYLE Live Week in Germany (15–19/09/2025) – A week full of inspiration & networking: Join them when 25 young leaders from six different countries come together for one week to discuss topical issues with stakeholders from business and politics, present their business cases and best practices and share their visions.
  • Intercultural Collaboration: Work with Young Leaders from Africa & Germany on real challenges on the topic of ‘Green Cities Rising’ – and put your skills to the test!
  • Leadership & Skill Development: Use customised formats to strengthen your leadership skills and grow beyond yourself.
  • A long-term network: Become part of a strong, long-term business network that connects you exclusively with other professionals in Africa and Germany. You will be able to establish sustainable relationships that will last far beyond the duration of the programme and sustainably support your international career.
  • Digitale Events & Insights: The digital formats provide you with unique insights into current trends and up-and-coming topics in African-German economic relations.
