Call for Proposals: European Youth Event (EYE) 2025

Deadline: March 30, 2025

Are you a storyteller? A young journalist or content creator eager to cover one of the most dynamic youth events in Europe? Do you belong to a youth or civil society organisation? Then this call is for you! The European Youth Forum is selecting five young journalists or content creators to attend and cover the European Youth Event (EYE) 2025.

Every two years, the EYE (European Youth Event) brings together thousands of young people from across the European Union and beyond, right at the heart of European democracy. The EYE is a unique opportunity for 16- to 30 year-olds to inspire and get inspired, to debate directly with Members of the European Parliament and other European decision-makers, and to exchange views with experts, activists and content creators.

EYE2025, the sixth edition of this event, will take place on 13 and 14 June 2025, offering a dynamic mix of interactive activities, debates, workshops, visits, artistic performances and much more – both inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg and around the EYE Village.

Duties

  • Develop a coverage plan for EYE2025 (before the event).
  • Create and publish articles, videos, social media posts, podcasts, or any other media formats of your choice during and after EYE2025. You are free to publish these in the language you are most comfortable working in!
  • Engage creatively with the participants, activities and key themes.

Cost

  • Your organisation will receive €1,200 to cover your travel, accommodation, meals, and production and publication costs – so you can focus on what you do best: uncovering the most engaging stories and creating amazing content!

Eligibility

You should:

  • Be between the ages of 16 and 30.
  • Be a part of a youth organisation or civil society organisation registered in the EU and create content for social media, your organisation’s website, or collaborate with a media outlet.
  • Have experience in journalism, video, podcasts, digital storytelling or other media formats.
  • Be passionate about youth engagement and creative storytelling.

Application

Fill in the form with:

  • Your name, age and address, as well as the organisation you represent (no CV needed!).
  • A short intro about your journalism or content creation experience 450 words max!
  • A proposal on where you’ll publish. Send us the specific media outlet, blog, social media handles, or member organisations website’s section where the final pieces will be published – with links!
  • A portfolio, meaning examples of your work such as articles, videos, social media content, etc. OR a first rough idea of what you would like to cover at the EYE2025 – what’s the story you want to tell?

Important to know: They will only pay the organisation that sends you; they can’t reimburse you directly. Therefore, you must ensure that your application is supported by a youth or civil society organisation before you apply.
