Applications are open for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at Ashesi University 2025. Ashesi University and the Mastercard Foundation have been engaged in partnership since the launch of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme in 2012. Ashesi was among the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program’s nine pioneering partners. Hundreds of Mastercard Foundation Scholars have enrolled at Ashesi University since the programme started.
They invite exceptional scholars from Africa to apply for undergraduate scholarships. Mastercard Foundation Scholars are expected to serve as role models for their communities across Africa as students and alumni. An integral component of the programme is the expectation for students to give back to their communities. At Ashesi, students will get to actively work on this through volunteer and community service opportunities.
Scholarship
- The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme is one of the most comprehensive at Ashesi covering all fees and costs for room and board as well as learning resources. As students at Ashesi, Mastercard Foundation Scholars also receive additional socio-economic support to successfully transition into Ashesi, and subsequently into successful careers.
Eligibility
- Open to a citizen of an African country;
- Have an excellent academic record;
- Demonstrate financial need;
- Exhibit leadership potential and a commitment to community service.
Application
Applicants do not choose which scholarship they may receive at Ashesi. Based on information in your general scholarship application, the Admissions and Financial Aid Office determines which award – including the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme award – you may receive.
