Deadline: April 25, 2025

Applications are open for the CLIC Agrifood Investment Connector 2025 for Sub-Saharan African. The ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC) is dedicated to accelerating and scaling finance for low-carbon, climate-resilient, and nature-positive agriculture, and food systems globally.

The CLIC Agrifood Investment Connector (‘Connector’) identifies climate and nature positive agribusinesses, assesses their climate and nature impacts and risks, and prepares them for investor pitching and due diligence. At the same time, the Connector engages investors, understands their needs, and facilitates meaningful connections to bridge the funding gap. Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is the secretariat for CLIC.

Benefits

  • Impact Assessment: CLIC applies a data-driven, evidence-based methodology to assess agri-SMEs’ climate and nature impacts. You will receive:
    • A pitch deck integrated with climate and nature impact information
    • A comprehensive climate and nature impact assessment report
  • Investment Facilitation: Their expert team offers hands-on support to facilitate quality connections between agri-SMEs and investors. You will receive:
    • One-on-one connections to our network of debt and equity investors
    • Curated opportunities for in-person and virtual pitch events
    • A business overview for investor outreach and communications
    • Professional advice on pitch deck and data room development
    • Personalized support with investor engagement and term sheet review

Eligibility

The following businesses are eligible to apply:

  • A legally incorporated and for-profit enterprise engaged in agriculture and food systems, with its primary operations in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Early- or growth-stage and post-revenue, with at least two years of operations and one years’ audited financial statements.
  • Actively seeking commercial capital, whether through debt or equity financing. A fundraising strategy including grants is also acceptable.
  • Implementing or planning to implement climate- and nature-positive practices within its operations, or offering climate and nature intelligence, products, or services to the agrifood sector.
  • The management should have at least two people, one of which should be able to commit to the time requirements of the program and will be our main point of contact.

You are encouraged to apply if your business is:

  • Ready to scale: Your business already has proof of concept and is in a position to scale, but needs to unlock funding to do so.
  • Seeking commercial capital: You’ve primarily relied on bootstrapping and grants, and are now looking to move onto raise equity or debt funding.
  • An impact-focused enterprise: Your business has a significant climate and nature impact, but needs assistance in measuring and quantifying that impact to engage investors.
