Deadline: June 14, 2025

Applications are open for the African Bridge Network Immigrant Professionals Fellowship 2025. The Fellowship is a training and work-placement program targeting foreign-trained professionals for the healthcare and research fields. The program will target skilled immigrants residing in the Greater Boston and Metro North areas.

This program is a direct effort to address the racial and economic barriers that skilled immigrants face in the US labor market. The Fellowship seeks to place a number of talented, diverse, and multilingual immigrant professionals from different regions of the world in a paid Fellowship in a fast-paced work environment. Participants will gain the needed work experience to access jobs in their industry and advance their careers following the Fellowship. Be aware that participation in the Fellowship does not guarantee full-time employment.

Program Tracks

  • Research Administration Track: Fellows with a background in finance, legal, or interest in careers in healthcare will receive a six-week workplace readiness training by ABN and complete a Research Administration course by Emmanuel College. Their placement will be in project coordination positions in the Research Administration field, handling pre-award and post-award grant management duties.
  • Healthcare General Track: Fellows with a background or interest in careers in healthcare will receive training in project management and a six-week workplace readiness training by ABN prior to their placement in a non-clinical position with a healthcare employer. Their placement will be in project coordination positions that align with their career goals.
  • Clinical Research Coordination Track: Fellows with a background or interested in careers in healthcare will receive a six-week workplace readiness training by ABN and complete a Research Coordinator training. Their placement will be in project coordination positions in the research field.

Fellowship

  • Fellows will receive an eight-week upskilled training for their respective track and a six-week workforce readiness training at no cost as part of the fellowship requirements. Thereafter, fellows will access paid work experience ($20/hr) of 30 hours per week for four months in program-specific positions with a host employer. The fellowship will either be in-person or hybrid.

Eligibility

  • Applicants should have the ability to legally work in the US (this program does not sponsor visas);
  • Residency in Massachusetts;
  • Some past higher educational training or work-specific training (such as college exposure/past work experience);
  • English Language Proficiency;
  • Digital literacy exam;
  • Commitment of 30 hours per week for the fellowship period;
  • Potential background check.
