Applications are open for the IDRF Women in Tech Program 2025. Women in Tech teaches young Canadians data science and web development skills, which prepare them to launch careers in the world’s most influential industry. IDRF is committed to eliminating barriers for young women interested in the digital space who cannot afford the expensive costs of Tech education.
The International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) envisions a future where women lead in tech innovation, inspired by pioneers like Ada Lovelace and Joanna Hoffman. Since 2018, the Women in Tech program has trained 150 women in coding and data science, awarding 45 scholarships for advanced bootcamps.
Program Details
The program offers two courses, Introduction to Web Development and Introduction to Data Science:
- Web Development: July 14th – August 20th
- Classes on Mondays & Wednesdays, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST
- Data Science: July 15th – August 21st
- Classes take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM EST
Eligibility
- Open to women between the ages of 17 and 29 who live in Peel Region, Toronto, or York Region.
- Applicants must be Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or individuals with Refugee status.
- This program is designed for beginners, so no prior experience is necessary. They teach with empathy and encourage collective learning and growth.
- International students are not eligible. This program is currently limited to residents with Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or refugee status.
