Deadline: August 5, 2025

Applications are open for the Resilience Fellowship 2025-2026. The Resilience Fellowship is back for its 4th instalment, this time, exclusively in East Africa, starting with Kenya! They are offering 14 spots for pairs of East African changemakers (ages 18- 26) to join a powerful 9-month journey of growth, healing, leadership, and resilience. They invite you to the human-centered fellowship, a space to deepen your activism, connect with like-minded peers, and co-lead real change in your community.

This is a high-commitment, 9-month fellowship designed for passionate, grounded changemakers ready to dedicate time and energy to personal growth, peer leadership, and community resilience. They are looking for individuals who are fully committed to the full arc of the programme, including in-person events, weekly facilitation, ongoing mentorship, and deep community work.

You’ll need to commit to:

  • Completing a 2-day Mental Health First Aid online training
  • Attending a 5-day, in-person Resilience Residential in full, taking place October 3 – 7 2025
  • Co-leading in-person Resilience Circles with 12–16 young people in your community (committing 5-6 hours per week to prepare and facilitate weekly sessions over 8 weeks)
  • Weekly preparation & reporting; including submitting feedback and data after each session and touching base with the TRP team for about 30 min each week
  • Monthly check-ins; Joining community calls to share updates, troubleshoot, and grow
  • Monthly mentorship – Meeting with your assigned mentor for one hour per month

Benefits

  • A KES 40,000 stipend per person, plus travel covered to the Resilience Residential
  • 5 days of deep restoration in nature with great food, meaningful conversations, and personal healing
  • Certification as a Mental Health First Aider
  • 8 months of intergenerational mentorship with experts
  • New skills in facilitation, leadership, project management, and community care
  • Reduced climate anxiety, improved emotional wellbeing, and strengthened community bonds
  • Lifelong friendships and a powerful support network

Eligibility

  • You must be aged 18-26, based in Kenya and committed to being available from September 2025 – March 2026.
  • Apply as a Pair: Resilience Circles are co-hosted in pairs, so they expect applications from pre-formed pairs who already work well together.
  • Inclusion Matters: They believe climate justice is intersectional. That means they actively encourage applications from marginalised communities, including youth with lived experience of inequality related to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, socio-economic background, and faith. They welcome and honour complexity here.

Application

Applications close at 11:59pm EAT, Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
