World Congress of Science & Factual Producers Global Career Accelerator 2025

Applications are open for the World Congress of Science & Factual Producers Global Career Accelerator 2025. The Global Career Accelerator is a program for up-and-coming factual filmmakers, digital producers, or anyone ready to take their career to the next level and bring their science, history, or natural history work to audiences around the world. The newly renamed programme builds on the success of the Emerging Producer Program and is open to all fields of expertise including factual, digital, social media, gaming, and multimedia.

The goal of the program is to welcome and support diverse emerging talent and encourage a new generation of Congress members. Producers and content creators working in all science, history, wildlife and non-fiction media are encouraged to apply including those working in digital media, social media and gaming.

The 2025 Global Career Accelerator recipients will be offered a range of support including accreditation and networking opportunities for Congress ’25, presented by the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP). The program also includes legacy discounts on accreditation for the 2026 and 2027 WCSFP, further allowing new members of the community to return annually.

Benefits

Qualified applicants will be selected to receive one of the following tiers of support for Congress ’25.

Full Bursary (Tier 1)

  • Full registration for Congress ’25
  • Travel and four nights accommodation
  • Mentorship from a Congress veteran
  • Opportunities for one-on-one meetings with decision makers
  • Welcome session with leading producers to help facilitate the most effective WCSFP experience
  • Tailored assistance and advice to successfully navigate WCSFP
  • Discounted accreditation to attend Congress 2026 and 2027

Priority for the Full Bursary will be given to producers from markets that are underrepresented at WCSFP.

Partial Bursary (Tier 2)

  • Full registration for Congress ’25
  • Mentorship from a Congress veteran
  • Welcome session with leading producers to help facilitate the most effective WCSFP experience
  • Tailored assistance and advice to successfully navigate WCSFP
  • Discounted accreditation to attend Congress 2026 and 2027

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be first time WCSFP attendees

For Tier 1 bursaries, two priorities have been identified

  • Applicants from outside the WCSFP’s traditional attendance base (i.e. outside of Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, UK, USA) and/or Applicants who have not previously attended a major international market event
  • The Global Career Accelerator Program welcomes underrepresented voices and encourages applications from across all cultural and geographic backgrounds
  • Applicants must demonstrate experience working in the science, history, wildlife or factual genres in one of the following roles: executive producer, producer, associate producer, assistant producer, or digital, gaming or social media content creator
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate that their careers are at a stage to benefit from attendance at a large international event

Application

Applicants will be required to provide the following information in their application:

  • A short bio
  • A current CV
  • A video or audio work sample (must be in English or subtitled in English)
  • A letter of support from an industry professional or someone in a senior media-related position who can assess the applicant’s qualifications to apply for this bursary
  • An application statement which provides more information on the applicant such as: The applicant’s involvement in science, history or non-fiction media; the applicant’s most recent or current projects; and the applicant’s goals for attending Congress
