Deadline: September 26, 2025

The Kenya-UK PACT Call for Proposals for the Nature-based Solutions sector is now open. The UK Government is looking to extend its UK Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions (UK PACT) programme in Kenya with technical assistance and capacity-building projects supporting the Nature-based Solutions sector.

UK PACT is a key part of the UK’s technical assistance under the UK–Kenya Strategic Partnership (2025–2030), which outlines joint priorities across four pillars: trade, investment and green growth; climate and nature; science and technology; and security and stability. Under the climate and nature pillar, Kenya and the UK are committed to demonstrating global leadership on climate, nature, and energy – mobilising finance for adaptation, resilience, and mitigation, and supporting biodiversity conservation. UK PACT contributes to this goal by advancing Kenya’s transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy through clean energy scale-up, strengthened climate systems, green finance mobilisation, and nature-based solutions.

Benefits

Each project can request funding between £400,000 and £650,000, with the following annual limits:

  • Up to £150,000 available for activities delivered between January 2026 and March 2026 (FY2025/26)
  • Up to £500,000 available for activities delivered between April 2026 and March 2027 (FY2026/27)

Eligibility

  • They invite applications from organisations with relevant experience in delivering technical assistance and capacity-building projects in nature-based solutions, including areas such as climate policy, governance, sustainable land use, and ecosystem restoration. This includes think tanks, consultancies, academic institutions, community organisations, NGOs, professional associations, and other similar entities with the expertise required to implement eligible projects.
  • Government agencies, government departments, and state-owned enterprises are not eligible to receive UK PACT funding, either as lead applicants or consortium partners.
  • In line with UK PACT’s commitment to localisation and inclusive delivery, additional consideration will be given to consortia that include local organisations, women-owned entities, youth-owned entities, and entities owned by persons with disabilities.

Application

The deadline for submitting proposals is on 26 September 2025 at 17:00 EAT/ 15:00 GMT+1. Submissions will not be considered if the full application pack has not been uploaded or if they are received after the deadline.

The following elements must be completed and submitted:

  • Project proposal template
  • Budget and workplan template
  • Project Theory of Change form
  • Project risk and issue register template

All applications should be completed in English.
