Deadline: October 5, 2025

Applications are open for the QUEST Entrepreneur in Residence 2025-2026. The Entrepreneur-in-Residence program empowers and inspires student entrepreneurs. This part-time, flexible role is part of the commitment to inclusion, innovation, and representation in enterprise. They are looking for a passionate, experienced founder who can share real-world insights and mentor students—particularly women and marginalised voices—to explore entrepreneurship.

This residency is part of their mission to embed inclusive role models within university innovation spaces—and ensure that all students, regardless of background, feel entrepreneurship is for them. There is a specific focus on supporting women of colour, but this role should also be a spokesperson for inclusive entrepreneurship more broadly.

Responsibilities

As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will work closely with the Enterprise team to:

  • Mentor and advise (primarily, but not exclusively) diverse founders on business ideas, pitching and investor relations, and growth
  • Host informal drop-ins and themed workshops bringing in own experience
  • Provide visibility, representation, and lived experience in startup spaces
  • Work with the QUEST team to shape inclusive support pathways and develop case studies
  • Act as a role model and advocate for women of colour in innovation and entrepreneurship

Benefits

  • There is a financial contribution to time and effort associated with this role, based on approximately 1 day/month over the next academic year (November 2025-June 2026 inclusive). There is the possibility of extension, subject to review.

Eligibility

  • Have entrepreneurial experience in any sector, but feel comfortable working across sectors
  • Have your own business currently
  • A passion for inclusion, equity, and youth development
  • Experience mentoring or working with young people or students
  • Connections with accelerators, investors, and business communities would be desirable
  • UK-based (need to be available for and comfortable with in-person sessions as well as remote/hybrid)

Application

Send a short expression of interest (max 1 page or 3-minute video) including:

  • A brief bio with your LinkedIn profile
  • Your entrepreneurial background
  • Why this role speaks to you
  • Any relevant mentoring or engagement experience

Send your EoI or any questions to: Leah Thompson, Associate Director – Entrepreneurship, Queen Mary University of London via [email protected]
