Deadline: November 5, 2025

The Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC) is proud to launch the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 3.0, 2025. This funding opportunity offers $8 million in investment to support Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) charitable and non-profit organizations across Canada. Their goal is to provide one-year flexible funding to initiatives designed to address the most pressing needs of Black communities and improve socio-economic outcomes.

The Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 3.0 is an initiative aimed at empowering B3 organizations to develop and lead projects where they address one of the three focus areas:

  • Combatting Anti-Black Racism
  • Improving Social Outcomes
  • Improving Economic Outcomes

They recognize the importance of programs that deliver real and measurable change within Black communities. Whether you are addressing systemic barriers or enhancing community well-being, B.I.G. 3.0 provides the financial resources you need to make a lasting impact.

Grants

They invite eligible B3 organizations at various stages of development to apply for one of three funding streams:

  • Core Stream: Up to $30,000 to support core and operational needs unrelated to programming.
  • Catapult Stream: Up to $80,000 to invest in new or to expand existing programs and services.
  • Community Spaces Stream: Up to $200,000 for capital projects and social infrastructure.

Eligibility

To be eligible for funding, your initiative must:

  • Be led by a Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) organization.
  • Address at least one of the focus areas and align with the Sustainable Development Goals and Social Determinants of Health.
  • Be based in Canada and completed by March 31, 2027.

Application

Applications open on October 1, 2025, and close on November 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM PST.
