Applications are open for the Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards 2026. Continental Reinsurance Plc is pleased to announce the 11th edition of the Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards — Africa’s leading platform celebrating excellence in insurance, risk, and resilience reporting.
The Awards honour journalists who are shaping conversations around insurance and reinsurance across the continent. Entries are invited from print, online, broadcast, and social media journalists who have published work in English, French, or Arabic.
New for 2026: Best Re/Insurance Social Media Entry — recognising digital creators using social platforms to make insurance stories more accessible and engaging.
Categories
The categories in the 2026 awards are:
- Best Re/Insurance Print Entry
- Best Re/Insurance Online Entry
- Best Re/Insurance Broadcast (TV/Radio) Entry
- Best Re/Insurance French Entry
- Best Re/Insurance Arabic Entry
- Best Re/Insurance Social Media Entry
- Dr Femi Oyetunji Future Talent Award
Award
- Award recipients are recognised at the Awards Ceremony to be held alongside an industry event and will receive a complimentary invitation to the event (health and government restrictions permitting). The cost of travel and hotel accommodation will be borne by Continental Re.
Eligibility
- Entrants must be journalists based in any African country.
- Submission can be either a published entry – print, online or broadcast (radio/television clip) in English, French or Arabic.
- Only one entry can be entered for each category.
Application
Include your name, media organisation, the publishing/broadcasting date, a brief profile together with details on your experience (50 – 100) and a photo.
