Their initial efforts are concentrated in the STEM fields, where rigor, precision, and depth of understanding are indispensable.

Responsibilities
- Fellows are entrusted with advancing the frontier of evaluating model development. They focus on systematically identifying the limitations and failure modes of current AI systems, designing rigorous challenges to probe their boundaries, and collaborating with Surge AI leadership to propose and refine strategies for improvement. This program complements, rather than replaces, ongoing scholarly or professional commitments. Fellows retain full autonomy in setting their schedules, with compensation provided on an hourly basis.
