Deadline: December 1, 2025

Applications are open for the Salzburg Global Communications Internship 2026. As an integral part of the Communications Team, you will be telling compelling stories about the impact of Salzburg Global’s programs. Your work will span across their website, print publications, social media platforms, and external media partners.

The Communications Team works on every Salzburg Global program. As a result, you will gain exposure to a broad range of topics and experts, which will help expand your knowledge and networks. You will also assist in other internal and external communications, providing you with experience beyond journalistic writing and across all the typical communications outputs of a non-profit organization.

Duties

  • Writing both quick-turn-around and in-depth interviews and features for SalzburgGlobal.org, program reports, and external media partners’ publications
  • Conducting in-person (during programs) and online (post-program) interviews with Fellows and donors
  • Helping to produce multimedia content for Salzburg Global’s social media and digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Researching Salzburg Global Fellows after they have participated in a Salzburg Global program and tracking their work
  • Maintaining the digital assets and publications libraries, and assisting with worldwide mailing distribution
  • Providing administrative assistance to the Communications team

Benefits

The internships are full-time, for a maximum period of three months. Although the position is not paid, they will provide the successful candidate with:

  • Board and lodging at Schloss Leopoldskron
  • A return ticket for their country of origin
  • Excellent networking opportunities with the international participants of their programs

Eligibility

  • You have recently completed or are in the process of completing a Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field like communications, public relations, or digital marketing.
  • Significant journalistic/writing and content production work experience outside of degree studies (e.g., with a college newspaper or agency internship) will be considered for those with non-journalistic academic backgrounds.
  • You have experience working in the media, particularly producing written and multimedia content.
  • You have demonstrable knowledge of international affairs covered by Salzburg Global’s program areas.
  • You have excellent (native or equivalent) English writing and communication skills, including editing.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • You have prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign and Photoshop).
  • Experience with web CMS and multimedia editing is also highly desirable.
  • You are enthusiastic about Salzburg Global’s mission.
  • You have a can-do attitude, can multitask, are proactive, and are willing to work flexible hours as needed by the program.
  • You thrive in culturally and professionally diverse environments.

Note: German language skills are not required.

Application

The application deadline is December 1, 2025 (17:00 CET). Don’t delay —apply today!
