Applications are open for the Canva Africa Design Challenge 2025. This is a regional Canva challenge open to all young people across Africa. This Canva challenge invites you to create a practical template that helps local businesses grow. From WhatsApp menus to social posts, first-time designers are welcome.
You can submit one Canva template per entry (multiple entries are allowed). Your design must be original and reflect real African entrepreneurial life – something that helps local businesses look professional and grow.
Choose from these categories to get started:
- WhatsApp Business templates – price lists, menus, or promos
- Email signature templates
- Social posts or reels – static images, short video layouts, or carousel frames
- Invoice and quotation templates
- Business cards or digital calling cards
- Product catalogues or order form templates
- Pitch deck covers or intro slides
- Logo or Brand Board
Prizes
- There’s a US$10,000 prize pool shared between the top five designs.
- Winners also receive a 1-year Canva Pro subscription, mentorship from Canva designers, and a feature in Canva’s template library.
Eligibility
- Open to Creators and Designers from across Sub-Saharan Africa.
- You can enter as a designer, freelancer, student, or content creator – all you need is creativity and a Canva account.
Judging Criteria
Designs will be evaluated on:
- Creativity and cultural relevance
- Functionality and usability
- Visual appeal
- Local authenticity and storytelling

- You can submit your design through the form linked on the Canva Challenge page. Make sure to include a short 150-word statement about who your design is for and how it helps them grow. You may only submit one template per entry (multiple entries allowed).
