Deadline: December 3, 2025

Applications are open for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) Young Leaders Training Programme 2026. The Foundation is launching the 2026 edition of the Young Leaders Training Programme, an initiative dedicated to strengthening the political participation of young men and women involved in civil society, trade unions and political parties in Cameroon.

The programme promotes the values of social democracy – freedom, justice and solidarity – by equipping a new generation of young actors and actresses of change. Since 2012, the FES has been supporting young leaders in Yaoundé and, since 2018, has placed particular emphasis on training Cameroonian participants.

For the 2026 edition, 25 young women and men will be selected to participate in eight two-day training sessions (Thursday to Friday), organised at the end of each month from March to October 2026, either in person or online (Zoom). These sessions will cover a variety of topics: political leadership, strategic communication, democratic values, and operational management tools.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be aged between 18 and 35 at the time of application;
  • Reside in Cameroon;
  • Be available for all programme sessions;
  • Hold a university degree (or be in the process of obtaining their first degree);
  • Be politically or socially active;
  • Be involved in an organisation, project, trade union or political party.

Application

The application phase runs from November 3, 2025 to December 3, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted in January for individual interviews, which will take place between January and February 2026, at the offices in Yaoundé or online via Zoom.
