Deadline: January 31, 2026

Applications are open for the Asia House Fellowship 2026/2027. Now in its fifth year, the research Fellowship is a unique opportunity for candidates who share Asia House’s vision for a strong and dynamic relationship between Asia, the Middle East and Europe. There are two available Fellowship positions for 2026/2027.

The Fellows will each complete a research project over the course of 12 months on an issue driving change across Asia and/or the Middle East. Their research will be published and distributed by Asia House to its wide network of senior business and policy figures and will inform the Asia House programme of engagement with global leaders.

Applicants should propose original research on issues shaping developments across Asia and/or the Middle East. Research will ideally fall under one of the following broad categories:

  • Geopolitics and trade
  • Technology, data and AI
  • Energy and sustainability

Research should be conducted with senior business leaders and policymakers in mind. It should be relevant and directly applicable to them by endeavouring to solve real-world challenges through rigorous study.

Benefits

  • Fellows will receive a stipend of £24,000, paid in equal instalments over the 12-month period.
  • The Fellowship is an opportunity for early-career professionals to produce an original piece of research which will be distributed to Asia House’s global network of decision-makers across government, trade, business, and technology.
  • Fellows will join Asia House’s renowned business and policy programme, receiving research support for the duration of their Fellowship and having access to the vast network of contacts across the private and public sectors.

Eligibility

The Fellowship is open to people of all nationalities and in all locations and can be completed remotely.

To be eligible candidates must:

  • Have completed a Master’s and/or PhD by October 2026.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Be in the early stages of their career.
  • Have a keen interest in and knowledge of economic/political/commercial issues affecting Asia and/or the Middle East.
  • Be self-driven and enthusiastic, with leadership potential.

Application

To apply, send the following to [email protected]:

  • CV (maximum two pages) which must include details of your academic research background and any leadership experience.
