Deadline: January 10, 2026

Applications are open for the Rotary District 6220 Global Grant Scholarship 2026-2027. Rotary Global Grant Scholarships are funded by The Rotary Foundation and administered by individual Rotary Districts.

They are awarded to college graduates with previous work, volunteer, and/or educational experience; intended graduate studies; and future career plans related to one or more of these focus areas:

  • Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention
  • Disease Prevention and Treatment
  • Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
  • Maternal and Child Health
  • Basic Education and Literacy
  • Community Economic Development
  • Environment

Scholarship

  • The Rotary Global Grant Scholarship is a $30,000 award for graduate study in a geographic area that has a Rotary presence. The award recipient must plan to enroll in a graduate-level (not doctorate) program that starts no earlier than the beginning of the fall 2026 academic year and concludes no later than December 31, 2027, and expend the scholarship funds by year-end 2027.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must currently work, live, study or have a permanent address in Rotary District 6220. Because the southern District boundary in the Appleton area is the Outagamie and Winnebago/Calumet County line, applicants must either work, live, or study north of Calumet Street.
  • Rotarians, or children or grandchildren of current Rotarians (or people who have been Rotarians in the past three years) are not eligible.

Eligible applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • High academic achievement
  • A reasonable level of proficiency in the language of study
  • Excellent leadership skills and potential
  • Proven record of success in his or her academic field or vocation
  • Commitment to community service
  • Well-defined and realistic goals
  • Concrete ideas for advancing within his or her chosen field
  • Sincerity about maintaining a lifelong relationship with Rotary after the scholarship period

Application

  • Fill out the 2026-2027 GGS Pre-qualification Application to complete the first step of the application process.
  • Applicants who meet the necessary pre-qualifications will be notified and sent a “Full Application” to be completed.
  • One or more “Finalist(s)” will be selected and invited for an in-person or virtual interview.
  • The chosen scholar must provide proof of admission to an eligible university program.

[NOTE: The award of Global Grant Scholarship is subject to final approval by the Rotary International Foundation.]
