Funded Traineeship for Young Graduates at the EU Delegation to Indonesia 2026

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Indonesia – ASEAN? Applications are open for the Funded Traineeship for Young Graduates at the EU Delegation to Indonesia 2026.

The EU offers a traineeship of 3 to 6 months within the Section of the EU Delegation to ASEAN. The EU Delegation to ASEAN is one of over 140 diplomatic missions that represent the European Union (EU) around the world. It was established in Jakarta the seat of ASEAN on 8 August 2015, reflecting the EU’s growing engagement with ASEAN. The EU Delegation is a natural point of contact between the EU and ASEAN officials, as well as others in the region wishing to know more about EU policies for the ASEAN region and on EU-ASEAN relations and cooperation. The overall purpose of the EU Delegation to ASEAN is to contribute to enhancing the strategic partnership that exists between the EU and ASEAN.

Main Tasks

  • Prepare ASEAN Weekly News
  • Contribute to monthly social media plan to enhance the EU’s visibility and communication
  • Political reporting from meetings, contribution to speeches and briefings
  • Contribute to preparation of events, policy dialogues
  • Political analysis, report on events, developments in ASEAN
  • Assist in the EU Representation in the EU organized public diplomacy and cultural events – Europe day, Climate Week, Get up and Move etc.
  • Trainee might be requested to carry out and deliver research projects during or by the end of the traineeship.

Benefits

  • Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Eligibility

  • Taking into account the local health and security conditions, only applicants currently residing in Indonesia will be considered.
  • Candidates must have graduated from University and must have maximum one year of professional experience after their graduation.
  • Motivated candidates, interested to work in the international relations.
  • Experience and study and knowledge of Europe and the European Union or ASEAN an asset.
  • Written and oral fluency in English. Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is strong asset.
