Capital City of Podgorica Scholarship to Attend the One Young World Summit 2026 (Fully-funded)

Applications are open for the Capital City of Podgorica Scholarship 2026. One of Europe’s youngest capitals, Podgorica has recently been named European Youth Capital 2028, marking its commitment to youth participation, inclusion and community connection. 

One Young World is proud to partner with the Capital City of Podgorica to launch the Capital City of Podgorica Scholarship 2026. The Capital City of Podgorica Scholarship will support one exceptional young leader who is living and making an impact in Podgorica to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 3-6, 2026. 

They are looking for students, young professionals, social entrepreneurs, activists, innovators and youth leaders with a willingness to represent Podgorica on an international platform. The selected scholar will demonstrate a proven record of contributing to positive change in Podgorica or wider context of Montenegro, to protect the environment, promote youth participation, develop culture and digital innovation, or promote equality, education or entrepreneurship.

Benefits

The Capital City of Podgorica scholar will receive:

  • Access to the One Young World Summit 2026, taking place from 3 – 6 November in Cape Town, South Africa.
  • Access to the One Young World Global Leadership Programme, Action Accelerator and lifetime membership to the One Young World Ambassador Community.
  • Hotel accommodation, checking in 2 November and checking out 7 November.
  • Return travel from your country of residence to Cape Town (flights in economy).
  • Catering which includes breakfast at the hotel accommodation and lunch and dinner at the Summit.
  • Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue.
  • Visa costs, if applicable (including visa application fee and travel required for visa appointment).  

Eligibility

Candidates must:

  • Be living and making an impact in the city of Podgorica, Montenegro.
  • Be a national of Montenegro.
  • Be aged 18 – 30 by the date of the One Young World Summit 2026 in November.
  • Have a strong working understanding of and ability to communicate in English, as the One Young World Summit will primarily be held in English.
  • Be available to join the programme full time between 2 – 7 November, and participate in all mandatory sessions and a pre-Summit onboarding call.

Selection Criteria

  • Proven record of creating positive change in Podgorica or in the wider context of Montenegro.
  • Active engagement in the community, such as through youth work, volunteering, civic engagement or community initiatives.
  • Evidence of exceptional academic, professional or extracurricular accomplishment.
  • Clear articulation of vision for post-event impact, and how the One Young World experience would be used to create a measurable impact upon return to Podgorica.
  • The ability and motivation to represent Podgorica on an international platform, and to serve as a youth ambassador after the Summit.
  • Alignment with One Young World mission to create a fair, sustainable future for all.
