2. UNCF STEM Scholars Program 2026-2027 (up to $25,000)
The UNCF STEM Scholars Program is an initiative designed to identify and provide scholarship and academic support for students who aspire to earn STEM degrees and to pursue careers in STEM fields, awarding 75 scholarships. The program enables highly capable young people to pursue undergraduate STEM majors and prepares them for successful careers in a variety of STEM professions.

3. MESCAL Project PhD in Marine Science 2026
The MESCAL Project, in collaboration with Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI), IRD, and MARBEC, is offering a 3-year PhD bursary starting September 1, 2026. The project explores how Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) along the East African coast can enhance fish populations’ resilience to climate change. It involves larval dispersal modeling, genetic analysis, and physiological assessments of key fish species, with research conducted in Kenya, France, and partner countries. The successful candidate will split their time between KMFRI in Mombasa and MARBEC in France, with work travel to South Africa and Tanzania.

4. UNU-WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship 2026. 
The Visiting PhD Fellowship Programme gives registered doctoral students an opportunity to utilize the resources and facilities at UNU-WIDER for their PhD dissertation or thesis research on developing economies, and to work with our researchers in areas of mutual interest. Visiting PhD fellows typically spend three consecutive months at UNU-WIDER before returning to their home institution. During the programme, fellows prepare one or more research papers and present a seminar on their research findings. They may also have the opportunity to publish their research in the WIDER Working Paper Series.

5. UNESCO 3rd Global MAB Youth Forum 2026: Committed to the Future We Want
The third Global MAB Youth Forum marks a key milestone for strengthening youth participation in UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme. Building on the 2017 and 2019 Global MAB Youth Forums, the third forum adopts the theme “Committed to the Future We Want.” Aligned with the Hangzhou Strategic Action Plan (2026–2035), it reflects MAB Youth’s strengthened commitment to addressing biodiversity loss, climate change, and sustainable development.

6. Call for Proposals: Canada-Asia Joint Research Grants 2026-2027 (up to C$40,000)
The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening Canada’s ties with Asia. As part of their Indo-Pacific Initiative, supported by funding from the Government of Canada, they invite proposals for joint research projects between Canadian and Indo-Pacific-based institutions. The Innovation Career & Venture Fellowship is a yearlong hands-on experience where HS Juniors explore college and careers in healthcare, law, entrepreneurship, or energy and sustainability; while using AI to develop and pitch their own innovative business solutions to Fortune 500 companies to impact their communities.

9. Google Creative Fellowship 2026
The Creative Fellowship places emerging talent on dedicated creative teams at Google, gaining exposure and hands-on experience across many of their in-house creative departments. The 6-month program aims to provide an enriching experience, while ushering in a dynamic network of creative talent with fresh perspectives and a strong “maker-first” approach.

10. J-PAL’s MENA Scholars Fellowship 2026 for Researchers ($15,000 stipend)|
The MENA Scholars Fellowship creates a pathway for MENA region-based researchers to build skills and experience to design and conduct randomized evaluations of poverty reduction and social development policies and programs. Over a two-year fellowship, selected scholars will build networks, have access to mentorship from the J-PAL affiliate network, participate in a dedicated training program, and have the opportunity to contribute to a randomized evaluation with J-PAL MENA.

18. Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Science 2026 (up to $3M)
The Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Science is a $30M global open-call designed to empower researchers and organizations with the funding, tools, and technical expertise they need to accelerate scientific breakthroughs. The Shiraka Training Programme (STP) is part of the Shiraka Programme, developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 25. Aspire Climatetech Program Spring 2026
Aspire Climatetech is a five-week in-depth, hybrid program that prepares startups for investor engagement. Investor-mentors work one-on-one with startups to simulate due diligence conversations and integrate feedback into deal room materials in real time. This program aims to prepare startups to raise equity investment. They are seeking engineering and science innovations that create a positive environmental impact through the innovation’s application of design, especially ventures that address sustainability priorities, including climate change, air and water pollution, food and transportation systems, waste management, and energy use.
