1. Queen’s Commonwealth Writing Competition 2026
The Queen’s Commonwealth Writing Competition is the world’s oldest international writing competition for schools, which has been proudly delivered by the Royal Commonwealth Society since 1883.

2. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Dominican Republic 2026 (up to $50,000 CAD)
The CFLI is a program designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects in developing countries, which align with Global Affairs Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement. The program is directed at projects conceived and designed predominantly by local partners. Projects are selected and approved by the relevant Canadian embassy or high commission. The CFLI also serves to support positive bilateral relations between Canada and recipient countries and their civil societies, by deepening contacts and supporting local endeavours.

3. Code for Africa AI Sandbox Seed Grant 2026 (up to $3,000)

12. IWMF Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship 2026 (Funded)
The Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship is a unique, transformative learning opportunity open to women and nonbinary journalists from every country around the world. Since 2005, the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) has selected one Neuffer Fellow each year to complete a six-month Fellowship focused on human rights and social justice issues. The Fellowship was created in memory of The Boston Globe correspondent and IWMF Courage in Journalism Award (1998) winner Elizabeth Neuffer, who died while reporting in Iraq on May 9, 2003.

13. EJN Biodiversity Media Grants 2026 (up to 12,000 EUR)
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering grants to three to four media organizations in low- and middle-income countries to support projects that strengthen media reporting on biodiversity issues. To increase understanding of the threats to biodiversity, and the solutions needed to address these challenges, EJN’s Biodiversity Media Initiative is offering media grants worth 10,000-12,000 EUR each to three to four organizations for projects that increase the quality and quantity of biodiversity stories and build the capacity of journalists to improve their coverage of biodiversity issues. Selected organizations will also receive support from experienced mentors through their project.

14. Mastercard Foundation Fund for Alumni Start-ups in Transition (FAST) Program 2026
FAST supports and empowers the next generation of entrepreneurs by providing enterprise support and connecting participants to business development training and a supportive network of like-minded entrepreneurs and mentors. FAST is a partnership of the Mastercard Foundation with CCHub Nigeria, MDF Global, Concree, Scale up, Savannah Innovations Lab, the Center for Enterprising Organizations, Inkomoko, and the Africa Leadership Academy (ALA).

15. John N. Bahcall Public Policy Fellowship 2026The John N. Bahcall Public Policy Fellowship is a full-time one-year postdoctoral level position, renewable for a second year.
