Deadline: May 31, 2026

Applications are open for the Resilience Fellowship 2026. The Resilience Fellowship is back for its 5th instalment – this time, recruiting fellows from Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya! Designed by youth, for youth, they are offering spots to 12 pairs of East African changemakers (ages 18–28) for a powerful 9-month journey of growth, healing, leadership and resilience.

This is a high-commitment, 9-month fellowship designed for passionate, grounded changemakers ready to dedicate time and energy to personal growth, peer leadership and community resilience. They are looking for individuals who are fully committed to the full arc of the programme, including in-person events, weekly facilitation, ongoing mentorship and deep community work.

Benefits

If selected, you’ll get:

  • 5 days of deep restoration in nature at the Resilience Residential (with great food, meaningful conversations, and personal healing!)
  • Certification as a Mental Health First Aider.
  • New skills in facilitation, leadership, project management, and community care.
  • Reduced climate anxiety, improved emotional wellbeing, and strengthened community bonds.
  • 8 months of expert intergenerational mentorship.

  • Based in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda or Tanzania
  • Available from July 2026 – March 2027 to commit time for training, facilitation, mentorship and reporting

  • Passionate about climate justice and building strong, emotionally resilient communities
  • A great listener, a compassionate leader-in-the-making, and excited to support others
  • Open to exploring climate anxiety, burnout, and emotional wellbeing

  • Attending the 5-day, in-person Resilience Residential in full (31 July – 4 August 2026)
  • Co-leading in-person Resilience Circles with 16–20 young people in your community (5–6 hours per week to prepare and facilitate weekly sessions over 8 weeks)
  • Weekly preparation and reporting – submitting feedback and data after each session and touching base with the TRP team for about 30 minutes each week
  • Monthly check-ins – joining community calls to share updates, troubleshoot, and grow
  • Monthly mentorship – meeting with your assigned mentor for one hour per month
