Applications are open for the Professor Tagirin A. Fregene Scholarship Fund for Masters in Medical Physics 2026. The Professor Tagirin A. Fregene Scholarship Fund, was established in honour of the first National Association of Medical Physicists (NAMP) president, to support aspiring medical physicists in their pursuit of excellence.

The fund is currently open to exceptional individuals interested in pursuing a masters degree in medical physics but who cannot afford to. The funds were graciously raised by two Medical Physicists who are committed to the development of Medical Physics in Nigeria.

Benefits

  • Selected applicants will receive a sum of N500,000 to support their masters degree program.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must have a B-Tech/BSc in Physics from a recognised institution in Nigeria.
  • Must have applied to study in a Nigerian Tertiary institution with a recognised Medical Physics MSc program.
  • Must be willing to contribute to the development of Medical Physics in Nigeria after graduation.
  • Must not be more than 30 years of age as at the time of application.

Application

The application deadline is July 31, 2026. Interview of shortlisted candidates will run from August 1-21, 2026.
