Deadline: June 25, 2026

Applications are open for the Youth for Responsible AI Fellowship 2026. Youth for Responsible AI is a global community of students and young people building real knowledge, real skills, and a real voice in how artificial intelligence develops, and who it serves.

They are inviting interested individuals to apply for a fellowship. Every fellow picks one of four tracks, commits 5–7 hours a week, and builds a real portfolio of work over 12 weeks.

  • Storytelling track: Turn AI incidents into short videos and carousels that actually get watched. 1 vertical video + 1 carousel per week. Best for: comms, journalism, film, anyone who can hold a camera.
  • Policy track: Read real frameworks, the EU AI Act, NIST, national bills, and write 2-page memos a lawyer or journalist could actually use. 1 memo every 2 weeks. Best for: law, policy, political science.
  • Outreach track: Grow the network. Bring in new contributors, build campus chapters, run AMAs. Best for: marketers, organizers, the person who knows everyone.
  • Tooling track: Maintain the incident tracker and work on real projects inside Rule26 AI and GhostCite. Top performers become GhostCite ambassadors. Best for: CS, data, design, product.

Benefits

  • LinkedIn-verified role: Youth for Responsible AI Fellow, Rule26 AI
  • Letter of recommendation on completion
  • Access to the y4rai alumni network
  • Top tooling fellows invited to become GhostCite ambassadors

Eligibility

  • Open to youth globally between 16 – 28 years.
  • They look for people who ship, who are curious, and who bring a perspective that y4rai does not already have.
  • You don’t need prior experience in AI, you need the drive to learn it and the discipline to show up every week.
