Applications are open for the Glendon Chase McCormick Scholarship 2026. The Glendon Chase McCormick Scholarship will be used to provide annual scholarships to Masters and/or PhD students studying at Dalhousie University.
The scholarship was established in honour of Dr. Glendon Chase McCormick, a Nova Scotia-born physicist who completed his undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University in 1935 and went on to earn a PhD in physics from McGill University. Dr. McCormick had a distinguished career at the National Research Council in Ottawa, where he specialised in electro-magnetic antennae and became a pioneer in weather detection using radar. The scholarship honours his legacy by supporting graduate students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
Scholarship
- Two scholarships will be awarded, each valued at $4,000.
Eligibility
- You must be enrolled in a graduate Masters or Doctoral program in any discipline.
- First-class academic standing in the most recent two year prior to the year of application is required (GPA 3.7/4.3).
