Deadline: Ongoing

Applications are open for the Wema Bank Hackaholics 7.0. Join the largest community of problem-solvers, visionaries, creative thinkers and young innovators in Africa, at the seventh edition of Hackaholics, powered by Wema Bank.

Hackaholics is Wema Bank’s flagship open innovation programme designed to support startups, innovators, creatives, problem-solvers, and technology enthusiasts across Africa. Over the years, the programme has evolved into one of the continent’s leading innovation platforms, enabling founders and innovators to access funding, mentorship, strategic partnerships, visibility, and growth opportunities.

Tracks

  • Startup Pitch Competition: A platform for startups and entrepreneurs to showcase innovative solutions, gain visibility, attract partnerships, and access growth opportunities.
  • Hackathon: A challenge designed for developers, designers, engineers, and builders creating technology-driven solutions to real-world problems.
  • Social Impact Track: A platform for changemakers and organisations building solutions that address pressing social and community challenges.

Benefits

  • Access prize funding, post-program support and opportunites to raise capital to scale your solution.
  • Learn from experienced founders, industry leaders and experts who guide you on building real, scalable products.
  • Showcase your work to investors, partners, and the broader ecosystem through demo days, media exposure and platform recognition.
  • Connect with organisations, platforms, and stakeholders that can help you pilot, integrate, or scale your solution.
  • Join a growing network of developers, creators, and founders building and collaborating across the ecosystem.
  • Get opportunities to test, validate, and deploy your solution within real business environments and customer markets.

Eligibility

  • Everyone is welcome and can apply. No matter if you are a young entrepreneur, a professional, or a student.
  • You don’t have to be a programmer and you certainly don’t need to have a degree in Computer Science.

Application

You can apply for three tracks: Startup Pitch (for early-stage ventures with a live product or prototype), Hackathon (a timed build challenge open to developers, designers, and product thinkers), and Social Impact (for solutions tackling social, environmental, or community challenges).

  • Apply for the Startup Pitch Competition
  • Apply for the Hackathon
  • Apply for Social Impact Track
