Deadline: July 31, 2026

Applications are open for the GLFx Chapters Program 2027. The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) invites locally-led organizations rooted in their landscapes to join the GLFx network by establishing a new chapter or joining an existing one.

Eligible organizations are registered or locally accredited and based in Africa, Asia-Pacific or Latin America and the Caribbean. Selected organizations will gain access to funding, partnerships, learning opportunities and a global network to advance collaborative restoration and conservation efforts for inclusive and sustainable landscapes.

About GLFx

GLFx is an opportunity-making network for local, community-oriented organizations and grassroots initiatives, that are transforming landscapes from the ground up, forging inclusive partnerships and advocating for policy change. These locally-led organizations, once part of this network, are also referred to as GLFx chapters.

From leading public dialogues, to championing agroforestry, soil restoration, sustainable livelihoods, biodiversity recovery, ecopreneurships, reforestation campaigns, and more environmental solutions, GLFx chapters are at the forefront of change in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean. Through the GLFx network, chapters leverage opportunities and partnerships for networking, learning, capacity development and media spotlighting in regional and global events. They also access seed funding for sustainable and inclusive landscape management.

Benefits

Selected organizations will become a part of the GLFx network and access a tailored support package across various target areas.

  • Action: Targeted calls for seed funding, expert guidance, fundraising opportunities and connections with potential donors.
  • Networking: Engagement in a global community, peer-to-peer exchange and participation in regional and global events.
  • Community building: Connecting and collaborating exchanges among people across the Global South, on-site assemblies, virtual gatherings and thematic hubs.
  • Learning: Tailored workshops, field exchanges, digital masterclasses and courses through the GLF Landscape Academy.
  • Spotlight: Global visibility through multimedia platforms to elevate your work and leadership.

Eligibility

They will accept applications from registered organizations within the broad spectrum of civil society organizations (e.g., NGO, CSO, research center, or social enterprise) or groups with accreditation as a local entity that:

  • Are made up of, represent, and work with local communities in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Are led by people from the geographic area of the organization’s work.
  • Focus on landscape action to support food security, regenerative livelihoods, biodiversity, climate resilience, sustainable land use, social inclusion and strengthening community knowledge systems;
  • Promote collaboration and partnerships among communities and landscape actors.
  • Are well-organized, with an administrative structure to potentially receive and manage funds.

They would especially encourage applications from organizations with:

  • Demonstrated experience in mobilizing actors to facilitate local action:
  • Intentional approach of involving or prioritizing youth, women, Indigenous Peoples and communities in vulnerable conditions;
  • Existing partnerships and dialogues with other stakeholders in the landscape :
  • Diversity in their leadership to strengthen inclusive governance.

Expectations

If your organization becomes or joins a GLFx chapter, you will be expected to:

  • Assign a focal point to liaise with the GLF and the GLFx network;
  • Participate in regular virtual engagements with the GLF team and other chapters (regional and global meetings, thematic hubs);
  • Engage year-round with opportunities shared by the GLF, including learning programs, knowledge co-creation, visibility on social media, networking, funding calls for projects and event participation;
  • Use networking spaces and platforms to share and exchange lessons and practices from your work with the GLF and GLFx communities;
  • Contribute to fostering local agency and nurturing a global community grounded in trust and care across landscapes.
