EatOkra is a hub for culinary culture—a conduit for chefs, creators, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders shaping how we gather, eat, and connect. The Culinary Creatives Awards is how they are doubling down on celebrating the visionaries advancing Black foodways, for the second year! More than a spotlight, this list is a catalyst for meaningful community and conversation. By identifying and showcasing ongoing excellence, they aim to create lasting pathways to visibility, opportunity, and support within the industry.
Categories
- Culinary Storyteller Award: Honoring the voices shaping brilliant food narratives, through mediums including writing, photography, film, social media, and other media/creative channels.
- Culinary Champion Award: Recognizing leaders and advocates who uplift the Black food community through activism, public relations, education, mentorship, and philanthropy.
- Culinary Innovator Award: Celebrating trailblazers pushing boundaries with bold ideas, new techniques, and creative approaches that are redefining culinary traditions.
- Culinary Rising Star Award: Spotlighting the industry’s emerging talent—folks showing extraordinary promise in the culinary world.
- Culinary Legacy Award: Honoring trailblazers whose lifelong contributions have shaped and enriched Black foodways.
Eligibility
- They seek nominees who identify as Black and encourage submissions that reflect diversity in background, geography, discipline, and impact across the food space. This includes—but is not limited to—chefs, content creators, food entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, and educators.
- Self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged.
Nomination
The application deadline is August 23, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. You may submit as many nominations as you would like, but only complete one form per person.
