Applications are invited for the Australian Catholic University (ACU) Stipend Scholarship 2026-2027. The Australian Catholic University offers stipend scholarships to support domestic and international candidates undertaking a Research Doctorate or Research Masters degree.
These scholarships are funded by the Australian Catholic University and awarded and administered in accordance with the ACU Research Training Program Scholarship Policy. Benefits
Successful applicants will be awarded a scholarship package consisting of:
- Stipend scholarship of AUD $34,315 per annum (full-time)
- Full fee offset valued at approximately AUD $34,728 per annum
- A single Overseas Student Health Care Policy and relocation allowance of up to AUD $2,000 for international applicants.
Eligibility
- A student must be a domestic student or an overseas student enrolled in an accredited research higher degree at ACU.
- In awarding the Stipend Scholarships, the University will give priority to:
- applicants whose proposed field of research aligns with the research priorities as identified in the University’s strategic plan and / or with existing or emerging research strengths of the University as designated by the Director, Graduate Research School or Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise);
- applicants whose proposed research can be supported by the University’s research environment including supervision and infrastructure;
- applicants who are Indigenous Australians;
- applicants who have applied for doctoral level study and who have completed at least four years of full-time equivalent tertiary study and obtained first class honours or equivalent results such as high-quality academic publications and / or relevant work experience equating to first class honours; and
- applicants who have not previously undertaken doctoral level study.
Application
The application process includes six key stages:
- Prepare – Develop your research idea, gather documents, and organise referees or supervisors.
- Apply – Submit your application and supporting documents.
- Referee reports – Your nominated referees complete and submit their reports to support your application.
- Assessment – ACU reviews your application and supporting materials.
- Outcome – You’ll receive an outcome.
- Enrolment – Accept your offer, complete enrolment steps, and prepare to commence your research degree.
