Applications are invited for the Next 36 Program 2027. Every year, NEXT Canada selects 36 of the most entrepreneurial undergrads and recent grads from coast-to-coast who they believe have what it takes to build Canada’s next unicorn.
Next 36 is a high-touch program that consists of academic lectures, mentorship, and workshops, all provided by an extensive network of alumni and partners. The first 4 months of the program (January – April) will run virtually, with the remaining 4 months (May – August) delivered in-person in Toronto.
Whether you have a pre-existing early-stage startup that you want to take to the next level, or you have an idea that you want to turn into a reality, Next 36 can help!

Eligibility
Next 36 accepts undergrads, masters students and recent grads from schools across Canada, from any academic discipline. Whether you have an early stage venture, or you’re looking to start something brand new, Next 36 can help.
They are looking for:
- Problem Solvers

- Academic Leaders
Additionally, all Next 36 applicants must meet the following criteria:
- commit full time to the program during the summer intensive period (May – August 2027). This means being present in Toronto for required sessions.
- must participate in all the mandatory program activities and abide by Next Canada’s code of conduct
Application
The application will ask for the following information:
- Education experience
- Short answer questions
- A short video upload, answering an interview question (max. 60 seconds)
