Deadline: September 20, 2026

Applications are open for the ChangemakerXchange Program Lead 2026. They are looking for an experienced programme manager to lead the delivery of the global programme supporting young changemakers working on responsible tech and AI across four regional cohorts.

The Programme Lead will oversee a ChangemakerXchange programme supporting young changemakers who are building a fairer, more sustainable future for AI and the digital world, and using technology in ways that serve people and the planet.

This spans a range of work, from building alternative AI infrastructure, to preserving indigenous / local knowledge and fighting algorithmic bias, to tackling the environmental footprint of hardware and data centres, to defending digital rights and fair labour conditions for the people behind AI systems, to using AI and tech for social and environmental impact.

The programme runs across four regions: Europe, MENA, the US, and Asia Pacific, with a cohort of around 12 selected changemakers in each region. It builds on their earlier AI programme, delivered across Europe, Latin America and MENA in 2025-26.

Benefits

  • A 12-month contract, likely running through to the end of October 2027.
  • A full time position, with possibility of 3-4 days per week.
  • A small but lovely office in the heart of Berlin, including state of the art tech equipment.
  • Flexibility for some home office days.
  • Salary range of 45-60K EUR per year –  the process follows a salary framework based on years of relevant experience, competencies, and role responsibility.

Eligibility

  • Applicant should have significant experience in programme or project management, ideally managing multi-region or multi-stream programmes.
  • Fluency in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Berlin-based, or otherwise Germany-based given the timeline for this role does not allow for relocation.
  • Strong organisational skills and comfort managing complexity across multiple regions and stakeholders at once.
  • Experience and fluency, or fast learning capacity, with standard office and project tools (e.g. MS Office, Google Tools, Typeform, Monday, Zoom).

Ideal attributes

  • Experience managing corporate partnerships, ideally with a large multinational company, able to speak the language of a corporate funder as well as of the changemakers on the programme.
  • Existing knowledge of and networks within the responsible tech and AI space globally, this would be a considerable bonus.
  • Some knowledge of or interest in AI and responsible tech, enough to talk credibly with corporate partners and technical changemakers alike.
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach. This is a coordination and delivery role, and doesn’t involve advocacy work.
  • Existing knowledge of one or more of the four regions (Europe, MENA, US, Asia Pacific) is a bonus, not a requirement.
  • Comfortable working independently and solving problems without waiting to be told.
