I AM NALA Fellowship – Call for 2027

Applications are open for the I AM NALA Fellowship – Call for 2027. Nalafem invites young African women who are refugees, internally displaced persons or stateless to apply for I AM NALA Fellowship Programme for the period of January 2027 to July 2027.

The Fellowship focuses on capacity and technical support, mentorship, solidarity, access and resourcing for fellows who are aspiring or current political leaders who can play a critical role in negotiations, decision making, democratic transitions, reconciliation and other peacebuilding efforts for their countries of origin or host countries.

The fellowship will have bi-monthly online sessions including trainings and masterclasses which will provide dialogues with and learn alongside mentors who are experts and acclaimed senior leaders with a wealth of experiences across a range of institutions and organizations. The fellowship may also include potential in person engagements.

Eligibility

  • Open to young women aged between 18-40 years;
  • Leaders of a campaign or women group;
  • Members of an existing consortium or collective with a focus on alliance building;
  • Young women engaged in cross conflict negotiations;
  • Young women politicians in political office.

They are looking for political leaders in one or more of the Africa Young Women Beijing +25 Manifesto demands and who embrace Nalafem Values:

  • Solidarity
  • Social Justice
  • Dignity
  • Equity
  • Decolonial Feminist Pan-Africanism

Applications will close on October 31, 2026. ONLY shortlisted candidates will be notified by November 6, 2026.
