Applications for the QUWA Research Grants 2027 are now open. The QUWA Research Grants support women researchers with competitive funding to develop innovative projects that address today’s most pressing scientific and societal challenges.
Through the generous support of strategic and industry partners, the program provides researchers with valuable opportunities to advance their work, foster collaboration, and transform innovative ideas into impactful outcomes. - Evaluating the effectiveness of policies supporting women during key life transitions such as marriage, divorce, widowhood, caregiving responsibilities, retirement, and unemployment.
- Measuring the Impact of Women’s Leadership Policies and Initiatives (Global)
- Evaluating the effectiveness of policies and institutional practices aimed at increasing women’s representation in leadership and decision-making positions.
- Women’s Social Status in the UAE
- Examining the factors that shape women’s social status in contemporary UAE society (both Emirati and expatriate women) and exploring how perceptions of their social roles within the family, the community, and wider society are changing.
- Health Challenges and Quality of Life Among Aging Women: The Role of Health and Social Institutions (UAE)
- Examining the health challenges affecting aging women, including physical, psychological, and social factors, and exploring how these issues influence their quality of life. Investigating the role of health and social institutions in providing care, support, and services that address the needs of women and promote healthy aging, independence, and well-being.
Category 5: H.H. Shaikha Jawaher Center for Palestinian Studies Track: Women’s Studies in Palestine
Grants
- Research grants are awarded across multiple categories, including sponsor-supported special tracks, with individual project funding ranging from AED 10,000 to AED 25,000.
Eligibility
- The main applicant (PI) should be a female researcher at a university (faculty member, postdoctoral fellow, graduate student (MSc/PhD), or research assistant).
- The PI must be a female researcher; the research team may include male collaborators/researchers.
- The applicant should submit only one research study as the principal investigator (PI).
- The research work should not be published before the date of the Forum.
