17th UNFCCC Conference of Youth (COY) – Call for Delegates

Applications are open for delegates to join the 17th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY). The 17th U.N. Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY) is the youth precursor event to COP27 of YOUNGO, the official Children and Youth Constituency to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

COY aims to empower youth and formally bring their voices to the UNFCCC negotiation processes and shape the intergovernmental climate change policies. Youth from all countries are invited to apply and come together to build capacity and technical knowledge about COP, develop shared strategies and feed into the Global Youth Statement of international youth policy demands with inputs from LCOYs, RCOYs or other pre-COP climate preparations.

About the COY17

In 2022, Egypt will proudly host the 17th UN Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY17) in Sharm Elsheikh, where thousands of young change-makers, from more than 140 countries, will be gathered with one main goal; Saving Earth.

The main components of COY17 are:

  • Capacity Building
  • Cultural Exchange
  • Skill-building Workshops
  • Policy Document​

Funding

  • There is a limited number of funded, partially funded and self-funded spots.

Eligibility

  • Open to young people from around the world;
  • Applicant should be 18 – 35 years old.

Application

The 17th Conference of Youth will take place from November 2 – 4, 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, immediately prior to COP27. The application deadline is October 10, 2022 at 11:59 PM GMT.
