Deadline: May 15, 2023

Applications are open for the Rotary Peace Fellowship Programme 2024-2025. As a leading humanitarian service organization, Rotary International promotes peace locally and globally as part of its mission. The Rotary Peace Fellowship programme offers a fully funded master’s degree in disciplines related to peace and development studies.

Rotary is looking for entry to mid-level peace and development professionals from around the world with at least three years of relevant experience, and who have a record of prior achievements in peacebuilding and potential for future growth and impact as leaders in the field.

The Fellowship comprises the following programmes. You can choose the one that is right for you:

Master’s Degree Programmes

  • Accepted candidates study peace and development issues with research-informed teaching and a diverse student body. The programmes last 15 to 24 months and include a two- to three-month field study, which participants design themselves.

Professional Development Certificate Programme

  • During the one-year blended learning programme, experienced peace and development professionals with diverse backgrounds gain practical skills to promote peace within their communities and across the globe. Fellows complete field studies and design and carry out a social change initiative. This programme is intended for working professionals. Fellows earn a post-graduate diploma upon completion of the programme.

Benefits

  • Every year, up to 50 individuals are selected to receive a generous award from The Rotary Foundation that funds tuition, living expenses, international field experience, and research/conference opportunities at one of the Master’s Rotary Peace Centers, located within six leading universities around the world.

Eligibility

Qualified candidates must:

  • Have three years of related work experience for the master’s programme (five years for the Duke programme).
  • Be proficient in English.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace.

Candidates must have at least three years between the completion of their most recent academic degree program (undergraduate or graduate degree) and their intended start date for the fellowship. Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program are not eligible to apply.

Application

They are now accepting Rotary Peace Fellowship applications for the 2024-25 academic year. Candidates have until May 15 to submit applications to The Foundation. Rotary endorsers must submit endorsements to The Foundation by 1 July.
