Apply for the #ERN2023 Photo Competition

Applications are invited for the #ERN2023 Photo Competition. The European Commission started the European Researchers’ Night in 2005 and its mission is to show that science is not dull, but on the contrary, is a source of interesting and fascinating phenomena.

With the #ERN2023 Photo Competition, they aim to celebrate science, technology and art in the most creative way. The most eclectic mix of ideas, disciplines and perspectives creates the most far-reaching conversations, in-depth debates, and inspiring developments. Whether you’re a student, teacher, artist, scientist, engineer, designer, or educator – join the challenge and share your creativity!

Theme

  • The Theme of the INL Photo Award coincides with the main theme of the European Research’s Night 2022/23: Science for Everyone – Sustainability and Inclusion.

Prizes

  • Three winners will be selected and the prizes will be the following:
    • 1st Place: €300,00 FNAC Voucher
    • 2nd Place: €175,00 FNAC Voucher
    • 3rd Place: €75,00 FNAC Voucher
  • The selected works will be exhibited at INL on September 30, 2023 and all images will be displayed online.

Eligibility

  • Open to applicants of any nationality and any age.
  • Each applicant is allowed to submit two images.

Photo Submission

  • Each candidate can submit up to 2 photos, in high quality, in digital format.
  • Digital formal: JPG
  • Image resolution: between 150dpi and 300dpi
  • File size: up to 5 MB per image
  • Name to be indicated as Author

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation criteria are the following:

  • Creativity and originality: 25%
  • Informational content: 25%
  • Technical proficiency: 25%
  • Artistic and visual impact: 25%
